Information for Students

Student-Research Preview

This session provides students with the opportunity to showcase the directions of their work, and to exchange experiences with other students and researchers from academia and industry. The Student-Research Preview (SRP) is organized as an Evening Session consisting of short presentations of work-in-progress followed by a poster session. In particular, it will provide students with:

  • A great opportunity to showcase the directions of their work

  • An opportunity to experience ISSCC quality

  • An opportunity to interact with others in the ISSCC community

  • Encouragement for future regular-paper submissions

The abstract submission deadline for SRP is October 19, 2024.

Rising Stars Workshop

A workshop to highlight and mentor outstanding students and young professionals exploring careers in academia or industry within the field of solid state circuits. The workshop for selected rising stars includes a special dinner, distinguished talk from IEEE Fellow Prof. Ingrid Verbauwhede, and a poster session with elevator pitches. The event is held every other year and the next workshop will be at ISSCC 2026.

Silkroad Award

(Far-East Student Scholarship)
Silkroad Award 2025 information

The Silkroad Award Program of the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) is intended to promote design of integrated circuits and systems at a quality level appropriate for submission to ISSCC 2023. It is particularly intended for students from universities within IEEE Region 10. Particular emphasis will be placed on submissions from emerging countries. The candidates will be selected from first-time-accepted paper authors. The winner(s) are selected from first-time student-presenting authors at ISSCC whose research is conducted in an emerging region in the Far East.

Student Travel Grant Awards:

The IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society Student Travel Grant Award (STGA) program recognizes and promotes early career accomplishments in all solid-state circuits fields by supporting student travel to SSCS-sponsored conferences. Students who are members of the Solid-State Circuits Society and in a Ph.D. program can apply for partial travel to attend ISSCC. Visit the SSCS website for more information click here.

Circuit Insights:

This event is targeting third-year undergraduate students and starting graduate students in the area of circuit design, but may be of interest to new circuit design engineers as well. For more details click here.

Code-a-Chip Competition:

The International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) 2024 Code-a-Chip is created to promote reproducible chip design using open-source tools and notebook-driven design flows and enable up-and-coming talents as well as seasoned open-source enthusiasts to interact with the leading-edge chip design community.
